Peter Kelly - Sensei
I started my training in 1979 at the age of 5 with my grandfather his brother (when the opportunity arose)

My grandfather showed me what his brothers who fought in WWI had picked up during their time with the Australian imperial forces and we drilled those combative techniques over and over for years. But there was one catch – I was not allowed to use what I learnt, which often led to great frustration especially during high school and dealing with bullies.
Not being able to use an effective reflex-based skill set is a hard thing to do. However looking back, I see this restraint laid the foundation for patience and verbal skills I have today, learning to rely on verbal rather than solely on the physical as a primary source of defence is very important (although at the time it didn’t feel that way).

For a few years after my grandfather’s passing, I trained at various places and achieved black belts in derivatives /off shoot schools that based their teaching in Shotokan and Kyokushin as well as a few years in Wing Chun and Japanese sword arts.

In 1999. I walked into my first American Kenpo Karate School (Parker System) and have been perfecting that art ever sense

I currently run the Ragnarök Combat Academy offering classes in American Kenpo Karate, Combative Training with a focus on logical and effective self-defence and preservation tactics and Weapons

I currently hold an 8th Degree Black Belt
Cert 3 in sports coaching
